Gavriela M. Bogin-Farber to present at MBA webinar on COVID’s impact on the practice of employment law
Gavriela M. Bogin-Farber, senior associate in the firm’s Employment Department, will serve as a panelist at the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) Continuing Legal Education program, “Pandemic to Endemic: Temporary & Permanent Changes to Process & Substance at MCAD During COVID,” on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. With a focus on the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD), the panel will explore the lasting impacts of the pandemic on the practice of employment law in the Commonwealth. Gavi and fellow panelists will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on MCAD claims and alternative dispute resolution; the commission’s input on religious accommodations in light of COVID-19 vaccine mandates; the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s recent updates to its FAQs regarding religious accommodations; and more.

Gavi represents individuals in all aspects of employment negotiations and litigation, including discrimination, wage and hour disputes, retaliation, and wrongful termination. She has litigated cases before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and in state and federal court. She also advises professionals and executives regarding separation agreements, employment agreements, and ongoing workplace issues. From 2016-2020, Gavi served on the Massachusetts Employment Lawyers Association’s (MELA) Executive Committee (as Program Committee Co-Chair and then Vice President) and in 2020 was elected President. This year, she was re-elected to serve as President of MELA for the 2021-2022 term.
