August 31, 2023

Sherin and Lodgen is pleased to announce that partners Joshua M. Bowman and Jonathan F.X. O’Brien completed the 2023 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), riding a total of 168 miles from Wellesley to Provincetown, and 290 miles from West Stockbridge to Provincetown, respectively, over a two-and-three-day period. This year marked Josh’s 12th time completing the annual bike-a-thon and Jonathan’s 9th time completing the annual bike-a-thon.

Over the course of Josh’s 12 PMC rides, he has raised over $149,500.

To date, Jonathan and his team, Team Crank, raised $500,000 for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, with The Warren Alpert Foundation matching their fundraising efforts dollar for dollar for a total fundraising of $1,000,000.

In all, the 2023 race has raised $57.2 million for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Josh is a partner in the firm’s Real Estate and Business Law Departments, and chair of the firm’s Hospitality Practice Group. He has extensive experience counseling local and national real estate owners and developers, institutional and non-institutional lenders, investors, tenants, contractors, and other businesses in connection with a wide variety of transactions and situations.

As a partner in the firm’s Business Law Department, Jonathan concentrates his practice on corporate law and commercial real estate, representing clients in corporate formation, contract negotiation, joint ventures, licensing and mergers and acquisitions, with a focus on cross-border matters.

The Pan-Mass Challenge is a Massachusetts-based bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. Always held the first weekend in August, the PMC raises funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a world leader in adult and pediatric cancer treatment and research. Each summer, thousands of riders and volunteers from 43 states and 12 countries participate in the PMC, all with a common goal: to find a cure for cancer. Since 1980, the PMC has raised approximately $900 million for Dana-Farber.
