Sherin and Lodgen Managing Partner Sara Jane Shanahan inducted into Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s 2023 Top Women of Law Circle of Excellence

October 17, 2023

Sherin and Lodgen is pleased to announce that Managing Partner Sara Jane Shanahan will be inducted into the 2023 Top Women of Law Circle of Excellence by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. The annual Top Women of Law celebrates the achievements of exceptional women lawyers who are pioneers, educators, trailblazers, and role models. Each year, the Circle of Excellence distinction recognizes only five women attorneys previously honored with the Top Women of Law award, but whose continuing achievements merit additional tribute. Shanahan was a 2015 Top Women of Law honoree.

Sara and fellow honorees will be honored at a reception on November 1, 2023, at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.

Sara joined Sherin and Lodgen as a litigation partner in 2008 and became the firm’s first female managing partner in 2021. As a litigator, her practice focuses on complex business litigation matters. She represents a diverse range of clients, including investment managers, property owners, national retailers, and shareholders of closely-held corporations. She is an active contributor to the legal and charitable communities and has held various leadership positions with the Boston Bar Association, including Council Member and co-chair of the Administration of Justice Section, and has served as a BBA representative on the Joint Bar Committee on Judicial Appointments. She has also served on the Women’s Bar Association’s Women’s Leadership Initiative. Sara is a regular speaker and contributor to programs for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc. (MCLE), and has been a guest faculty member in the Harvard Law School Winter Trial Advocacy Workshop. She is presently serving as President for the Wellesley Club, a civic organization founded in 1889.
