Edward S. Cheng and Mariem Marquetti Present the MCLE Program, “ABA Ethics Opinion 512 & You”
Partner Edward S. Cheng and Associate Mariem Marquetti presented the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) program, “ABA Ethics Opinion 512 & You,” on January 31. Ed and Mariem discussed ABA Ethics Opinion 512 on the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) tools, provided an overview of GAI basic concepts, and lent insights on ethical concerns arising from using these tools, such as billing for GAI use and disclosure.
Ed is a partner in Sherin’s Litigation Department and co-chair of its Professional Liability Practice Group. He has over two decades of litigation experience, specializing in complex commercial disputes, professional malpractice cases, insurance coverage disputes, and real estate litigation. Ed also represents attorneys and their law firms in Bar Discipline matters and teaches Professional Responsibility at Boston College Law School.
Mariem is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department. Her practice focuses primarily on civil litigation, representing clients in complex employment matters, commercial disputes, real estate litigation, and professional liability matters before state and federal courts, as well as before state agencies such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
The program will be rebroadcast on Tuesday, February 18 at 12:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 26 at 3:00 p.m.
