Brian J. MacDonough appointed Chair of the Firm’s Employment Department
Brian J. MacDonough has been appointed chair of the firm’s Employment Department, effective February 1, 2020. Brian previously served as co-chair of the department alongside Nancy S. Shilepsky, a leading influence in the world of executive advocacy, employment law and employment litigation. Nancy, senior partner in the department, will continue to serve clients in her active executive advocacy practice.
Nancy said, “Brian and I have worked together as a team for more than 15 years, establishing and building a nationally recognized employment practice. He is an important member of our department and is a major contributor to the firm’s continued success. Brian is an exceptional leader who will continue to grow and shape our employment litigators and practice, and there is no one else I’d rather have as my successor.”
Brian said, “I am honored to serve as chair of the firm’s Employment Department, and I look forward to continuing our leading executive advocacy and employment law work. Together we will further expand our department to meet the needs of our growing client base.”
Brian concentrates his practice in employment law and executive advocacy. A highly respected advisor to his clients, Brian works with executives and professionals on sophisticated employment and compensation matters. He handles a wide range of matters, including contract negotiation and enforcement, discrimination, whistleblowing, wage and hour issues, and wrongful termination.
In addition to his executive advocacy practice, Brian also litigates cases in both federal and state courts and appears regularly before state and federal agencies, including the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Highly respected by his colleagues, Brian is a former co-chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section. He has been recognized by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, and Benchmark Litigation.
