October 16, 2024

David A. Michel has been appointed Vice Chair of the Federal Bar Association’s (FBA) Labor and Employment Law Section. His one-year term became effective at the beginning of October. For the FBA’s 2023-24 term, David served as Section Deputy Chair. He also served on the Board of the FBA’s Younger Lawyers Division as 1st Circuit Representative.

A partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, David assists clients in resolving complex business, real estate, and employment disputes. His experience includes representing companies in a variety of complex civil and commercial disputes in federal and state court and through alternative dispute resolution. In particular, David represents companies, developers, and landlords involved in real estate disputes, including adverse possession, and zoning. He also represents clients in employment matters involving restrictive covenants, discrimination, and wage and hour litigation.

Founded in 1920, the FBA is a national bar association with approximately 15,000 members and at least one chapter in almost every state. The FBA is dedicated to the advancement of the science of jurisprudence and to promoting the welfare, interests, education, and professional development of all attorneys involved in federal law. Its members run the gamut of federal practice: attorneys practicing in small to large legal firms, attorneys in corporations and federal agencies, and members of the judiciary. The FBA Labor & Employment Section is comprised of a diverse group of counsel: plaintiff side, defense side, counsel for the public sector and in-house counsel.
