Boston employment attorney Nancy S. Shilepsky said she found it noteworthy that the judge was not willing to reduce MacLellan’s rate based on the much lower rate she had requested in a different case several years earlier.

“[This is] arguably in line with the sentiment that women should not be punished for historical pay inequities,” Shilepsky said. “For women attorneys who, like many women, sometimes unknowingly undervalue themselves, this is a great result.”
