Ronald W. Ruth appointed President of Northeastern University School of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors
Sherin and Lodgen LLP is pleased to announce that partner Ronald W. Ruth has been appointed president of the Northeastern University School of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors for the 2017-2018 school year.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on the Alumni/ae Association Board of Directors,” Ruth said. “I fondly remember the years I spent at Northeastern law and the energy and ambition to improve the circumstances of those injured, harmed, victimized and discriminated against in our society. I am delighted to find that same energy in today’s students. I also celebrate the lasting connections I made while there. As president this year, I look forward to the Alumni/ae Association actively participating in the selection of the next dean. Through the selection of the new dean we hope to build on the considerable reputation and assets of the school and to build on the tremendous recent successes of the students, faculty and Dean Paul. We also will be continuing the initiatives of past presidents, as we work to engage the alumni/ae community and support the development of current student/graduate relationships.”
Ruth is co-chair of the Environmental Law Group at Sherin and Lodgen. He is the former managing partner and former chair of the Real Estate department. He concentrates his practice on environmental, real estate and land use law. Intensely involved in brownfield issues, Ruth has represented owners and tenants in connection with numerous sites that have been successfully redeveloped from abandoned manufacturing or industrial operations into commercial developments. He is particularly familiar with the complicated problems arising from the construction of projects undertaken on contaminated properties.
Founded in 1974, the Northeastern University School of Law Alumni Association exists to increase the number of actively engaged School of Law alumni, to provide opportunities for graduates to interact and maintain relations with each other and the general School of Law community and to maintain the positive reputation of the School through various initiatives.
