Sara Jane Shanahan and Jonathan F.X. O’Brien present at MCLE webinar on LLC liability issues

Sara Jane Shanahan and Jonathan F.X. O’Brien presented at the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) webinar, “LLC Liability Loopholes & Piercing the Corporate Veil,” on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. The webinar covered best protective practices, piercing the corporate veil trends, and key case law regarding claims against corporations, LLCs, and corporate insiders. Sara chaired the discussion and presented recent Massachusetts cases involving claims against insiders at corporations and LLCs, while Jonathan discussed advising corporations and LLCs from the perspective of a transactional lawyer.

Sara is chair and partner of the firm’s Litigation Department. Her practice focuses on complex business litigation and insurance coverage disputes. Sara represents a variety of clients such as investment managers, national retailers, insurers, insureds, closely held businesses, and their shareholders and members.

Jonathan is a partner in the firm’s Business Law and Real Estate departments. He concentrates his practice on business law and commercial real estate, representing clients in corporate formation, contract negotiation, joint ventures, licensing, resolution of shareholder and director disputes, mergers and acquisitions, and the purchase and sale of assets.
