Sara Jane Shanahan quoted in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly article, “Bar: SJC ruling offers clarity, useful considerations for litigants”
Sara Jane Shanahan, managing partner of the firm, was quoted in a Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly article published on March 20, titled “Bar: SJC ruling offers clarity, useful considerations for litigants.” The article analyzes the case H1 Lincoln, Inc. v. South Washington Street, LLC, et al., and discusses how it provides clarity on the issue of post-judgment interest for litigators.
From the article:
“But Boston attorney Sara Jane Shanahan, who litigates complex business disputes, said the decision is particularly important in high-stakes litigation matters.
‘In each case, the defendant can weigh multiple factors in deciding whether to satisfy the judgment before the appeal is resolved or take the risk that judgment will be affirmed and it will owe years of post-judgment interest, which accrues at a rate of 12 percent,’ Shanahan said.”
