Sherin and Lodgen partner Edward S. Cheng appointed to the Massachusetts SJC’s Court Management Advisory Board
Sherin and Lodgen is pleased to announce that Edward S. Cheng has been appointed to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s (SJC) Court Management Advisory Board (CMAB). As a committee member, Ed will assist the SJC Justices, the Chief Justice of the Trial Court, and the Court Administrator on all matters of judicial reform. His three-year term began on January 1.
Ed is a partner in Sherin and Lodgen’s Litigation Department. He has over two decades of litigation experience, specializing in complex commercial disputes, professional malpractice cases, insurance coverage disputes, and real estate litigation. Ed represents attorneys and their law firms, corporations, architects, engineers, title insurance companies, and professional liability insurance companies. He also represents attorneys in disciplinary proceedings before the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers (“BBO”) and was a former Hearing Officer for the BBO.
The Massachusetts Legislature formed the CMAB in 2003. Per Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 211B, Section 6A, the CMAB consists of the attorney general, or his designee, the executive director of the Massachusetts office of victim assistance, and 10 additional members appointed by the SJC.
