Sherin and Lodgen partner Edward S. Cheng presents at GNBA’s 7th Annual CLE by the Sea Northeast Conference for Solos & Small Law Firms

Sherin and Lodgen announces that Edward S. Cheng presented at the Greater Newburyport Bar Association’s (GNBA) 7th Annual CLE by the Sea Northeast conference for solos and small law firms on July 18. Ed presented on the session, “Ethics Smorgasbord,” where he discussed current topics in ethics, including what to do if a bar complaint comes over the transom; copying someone else’s brief; conflict of interest issues involving former clients; handling clients when moving to another firm; and ethics of artificial intelligence brief writing.

Ed has over two decades of litigation experience, specializing in complex commercial disputes, professional malpractice cases, insurance coverage disputes, and real estate litigation. As a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department and co-chair of its Professional Liability and Construction Law Practice Groups, Ed represents attorneys and their law firms, corporations, architects, engineers, title insurance companies, and professional liability insurance companies. He also represents attorneys in disciplinary proceedings before the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers (“BBO”) and was a former Hearing Officer for the BBO.
