Sherin and Lodgen partners with MCLE on establishment of the Robert J. Muldoon, Jr. Scholarship Fund
Sherin and Lodgen is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) and Kenney & Sams, PC in establishing the Robert J. Muldoon, Jr. Scholarship Fund. The scholarship fund, in honor of Sherin and Lodgen’s former managing partner and former Litigation Department Chair, is a tribute to Bob’s legacy as a longtime advocate of continuing legal education and MCLE programming.
The scholarship fund aims to make MCLE programs and publications accessible to those who would not otherwise be able to afford them. Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis to 10 eligible recipients, including legal services attorneys, pro-bono attorneys, solo practitioners, new lawyers, and other advocates who work to serve the public interest. Sherin and Lodgen and Kenney & Sams pledged the first $10,000 to launch the scholarship fund with the goal of reaching $25,000. Contributions to the scholarship fund can be made online, or sent by mail with the pledge form.
During his 50-year legal career, Bob served as Sherin’s managing partner from 1997-2000 and as a partner and chair of the firm’s Litigation Department for many years. As a litigator, he represented numerous national and international corporations in commercial litigation and had extensive experience in the defense of legal malpractice cases, life sciences and pharmaceuticals, land use and development, and other real estate issues. He spent 23 years volunteering with the MCLE, serving on the Board of Trustees for three terms, including one as president. Among his many accolades, Bob was an MBA Gold Medal Award recipient; Chair of the National Conference of Bar Examiners; a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers; and was ranked by Chambers USA as a “statesman of the bar,” The Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers.
The MCLE aims to keep raising the caliber of lawyers’ professional and ethical service to their clients and communities, by providing comprehensive and practical continuing legal education of the highest quality to the broadest possible audience.
