Sherin and Lodgen represents Toll Brothers in landmark development of Superfund Site in Woburn
Sherin and Lodgen LLP attorney Ronald W. Ruth represented Toll Brothers, a luxury home construction company, in its joint venture with Cabot, Cabot & Forbes to develop a multi-family residential project on a Superfund site in Woburn, MA. The project, currently under construction, was the first-ever Region 1 Superfund site to receive approval for residential development from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. Ruth’s representation involved review of risk assessment to change the status of a portion of the site to allow for development.
Ruth is co-chair of Sherin and Lodgen’s Environmental Law Group. He is the former Managing Partner and former chair of the Real Estate department. He concentrates his practice on environmental, real estate and land use law. Ruth became a LEED Accredited Professional in July 2008. He is particularly familiar with the complicated problems arising from the construction of projects undertaken on contaminated properties.
