Thomas F. Maffei, of counsel in the firm’s Litigation Department, was quoted in a Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly article on July 25, 2019. The article, “Bad advice, unethical conduct alleged in murky legal-mal case,” details an on-going case, which dates back to 1996, in which an unorthodox and arguably unethical ex parte meeting with a judge may greatly complicate a North Shore attorney’s defense against an ex-client’s malpractice.
