Joshua M. Bowman, chair of the firm’s Hospitality Practice Group, served as a panelist at Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s (MLW) April 20th webinar, “Rent payments and COVID-19: What businesses need to know.” During the webinar, Josh and fellow panelists discussed a Massachusetts state court’s recent ruling that a commercial tenant was not required to pay rent under its lease during the state’s COVID-19 government-ordered shutdown, why the judge may have ruled as he did, and what the implications are for landlords and tenants going forward.
