
Kellen J. Safreed’s practice focuses on all areas of employment law and related litigation and arbitration, including contract negotiation and enforcement, wage and hour issues, wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, and whistleblowing.
Kellen is an associate in the firm’s award-winning Employment Law Department – ranked by Chambers USA for “Labor and Employment: Mainly Plaintiff’s Representation” in Massachusetts and by U.S. News and World Reports “Best Law Firms” for “Employment Law: Individuals” and “Litigation – Labor and Employment.”
Since 2024, Kellen has served as Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association (BBA) New Lawyers Network, where he works with the BBA and the New Lawyers Executive Steering Committee to publicize programs, and to produce social, networking, and educational events.
Prior to joining Sherin and Lodgen, Kellen was an associate at a Massachusetts law firm. He previously worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Maine Business & Consumer Court in Portland, Maine, where he performed legal research and drafted orders on a wide range of civil matters.
Kellen earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law. While attending law school, he worked as a student attorney for Boston University School of Law’s Civil Litigation Clinic. Kellen was also previously a Judicial Extern for the Massachusetts Land Court and served as Article Editor for the law school’s Review of Banking and Financial Law.
